Elemental Figurative Sculptures

Back when she more frequently sculpted, my wife Leslie would ask me for ideas for her sculpture projects. When she expressed an interest in creating a series of four figurative sculptures with an elemental theme — earth, air, fire, and water — I recommended that she expand the line to sixteen by crossing the elements with the four seasons, producing autumn/fire, spring/water, winter/air, etc.

Additionally, I provided concept art for the sculptures that we discussed and then photographed the completed pieces for her.

I saved the sketches of two of my favorite pieces, Aqua Ver and Ignus Autumnum.
